Al Sadd vs Nasaf Qarshi
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 13 March 2018
Kick-off: 16:15 CET
Persepolis’ win over Al Wasl last week was to be expected, but Nasaf Qarshi’s over Al Sadd was taken anything but for granted. It happened, and has turned this group into a three-horse race, with three teams being on six points each, and Al Wasl at the bottom, without any points. Al Sadd looked poor last week in Uzbekistan, second best on the pitch almost for 90 minutes. Ironically, it took Nasaf a penalty to score the only goal of the match, even though they had several chances to score before and after that. On Friday, Al Sadd lost again. It was their third consecutive defeat, the least painful one. The first of those three bad results was against Al Duhail, ten days ago, a defeat that put an end to their hopes of winning the championship title in Qatar. It feels as if Al Sadd’s players have… lost heart, but they still have everything to play for in the AFC CL, and this is the game they absolutely need to… pick up their pieces and respond.
Al Sadd are towards the end of their season in Qatar, and they seem to be… crumbling down, losing three games in a row. Nasaf Qarshi seem to be exactly the opposite, with three wins and a draw in their last four matches, fresh from their 3-1 win over Buxoro in Uzbekistan’s championship which just started. Last week they were far superior to Al Sadd, and deservedly earned all three points, no matter if their only goal came from the penalty spot. A draw in this match wouldn’t be a bad result for them. They would still be level on points with Al Sadd, but they would be higher than them in the table (unless Persepolis lose to Al Wasl, which feels very improbable), as they have already beaten them at home.

Last week’s game was the first ever between these two.
Al Sadd vs Nasaf Qarshi: Prediction
Al Sadd are considered practically sure winners, with their victory at just 1.45 betting odds. Personally, tempted by Nasaf’s awesomely paying double chance and Al Sadd’s very poor form, I’m backing the visitors to leave Qatar undefeated.
Al Sadd vs Nasaf Qarshi: Betting Tips
Nasaf’s double chance pays 2.40. Draw alone is at 4.50, it feels much more probable than a Nasaf win, but even 2.60 is great, I reckon. Nasaf’s win in “draw no bet” is at 4.40(!), and it makes a… fun bet.
