America Mineiro vs Chapecoense
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 13 June 2018
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
América’s coach, Enderson, was left satisfied with his team’s defending last weekend at Gremio, lamenting their poor finishing, feeling that they deserved a point in Porto Alegre. My take on this is that América were lucky to “escape” with a “simple” 1-0 defeat. Gremio were not fantastic (far from that), but they should have scored at least one more goal. América’s best chance came in added time, a header from an awesome position that Gremio’s goalkeeper dealt with the way he had to. The Belo Horizonte side are on 13 points from 11 matches, having lost four of their last five games. Twelve out of their 13 points have been earned at home, where they look like a totally different team.
Chapecoense took perfect advantage of Cruzeiro’s worst game in weeks and weeks now, beating them 2-0 at home last weekend. They took the lead in the 80th minute thanks to a Bruno Silva goal that may have been scored with his hand, and the second goal didn’t come before deep into added time, so this final 2-0 could be called partially “misleading”, it’s not like Chape won without sweating, but truth is, they were the better team on the pitch, the much more motivated team on the pitch, and deserved all three points. They are on 13, just like América. Only two out of those 13 points have been earned away from home.

America Mineiro vs Chapecoense: Head to head Stats
A 2-1 Chape win in 2016, and a 1-1 draw back in 2013, in the two, only, games between these two in the past, in Belo Horizonte.
America Mineiro vs Chapecoense: Prediction
Looking at América’s home form since the start of the season, and Chape’s results and performances on the road, backing the hosts to win makes perfect sense.
America Mineiro vs Chapecoense: Betting Tips
América’s win pays 2.10, falling to 1.50 in “draw no get”, with their double chance as low as 1.28. Their last three home games had four goals each, and Chapecoense’s last four away games had a total of 14 goals. “Over 2.5” pays a marvelous 2.30, if you take those numbers into account. Even “over 1.5” pays a not too bad (considering the relatively low risk involved) 1.44.
