Arsenal vs Watford
Competition: Premier League
Date: 31 January 2017
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
Arsenal, having been on a bit of a slide, are slowly creeping their way back into contention as they claimed second spot with a good win, and are flowing with confidence after destroying Southampton in the FA Cup. Up nest is a Watford side that is heading in the opposite direction and could be easy points for the Gunners.
Watford find themselves in 14th spot as a spate of injuries and poor performances saw them steadily drop down the log. They have not won a game in five, in fact they have picked up unpleasant draws, with three points coming out of the five games. Draws to Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough would have been disappointing, almost equally so the 2-2 draw most recently to Bournemouth, but they do not seem to have much direction as they prepare to face off against an inform team in Arsenal.
For the Gunners, they have flittered and fluttered between fifth and second, and are on a high at the moment thanks to their rivals Tottenham dropping points while they won a good game 2-1 against Burnley. Still eight points off the leaders Chelsea, it will be about winning at all cost for the Gunners as any dropped points could see them fall to fourth potentially. However, a 5-0 win against Southampton, and a Theo Walcott hat trick speaks of a team full of confidence against a team with very little.
