Atletico Mineiro vs Ceara
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 14 June 2018
Kick-off: 02:45 CET
In the Atlético Mineiro vs Fluminense preview a few days ago I wrote how important Róger Guedes is to the Belo Horizonte side, and he showed so once again, scoring twice in their 5-2 triumph over Flu, and generally… owning the pitch. Still, it’s uncertain if he’ll be an Atlético player when the championship restarts, after the World Cup finals. Realistically looking at things, most-most probably, this will be his last game for Atlético. On the other hand, the BH side just signed Jimmy Chará, a very fast winger who spent the first half of 2018 playing for Junior (Barranquilla, Colombia). Center-back and captain Leandro Silva is dealing with a minor injury, “annoying” enough to keep him out of this game. Atlético are second in the table, six points behind leaders Flamengo.
If you’re losing 2-0 less than 25 minutes into the game, and you manage to earn a point with an equalizer in the 88th minute, having opposite you the second biggest favorite to win the championship title, that draw feels like a win. Ceará remained at the bottom of the table last weekend, the only team in the Série A not to have won a single game yet, but that 2-2 versus Palmeiras was a real morale boost. Things look different ever since Lisca took over, it feels that the players have… regained the motivation they were lacking earlier in the season, but still, the Fortaleza side need results, victories. Not only are they at the bottom of the table, but they have just over half the points of those right above them in the table (five to nine). On the other hand, they have stayed undefeated in two games in a row.

Atlético Mineiro haven’t hosted Ceará since 2011. That game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Atletico Mineiro vs Ceara: Prediction
I’ll be very surprised if the hosts don’t win, but their 1.36 is not really tempting.
Atletico Mineiro vs Ceara: Betting Tips
As previously mentioned, a simple Atlético win doesn’t pay more than 1.36. “Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.80, and these two combined promise a decent 2.10.
