Atromitos vs Xanthi
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 3 March 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Atromitos’ double chance and “both teams to score” were my two tips last Monday when the Peristeri side hosted AEK Athens, adding that I had a 1-1 hunch. Amr Warda scored a spectacular goal in the 80th minute to make it 1-1, which was the final score indeed. Atromitos have practically secured their Europa League ticket, and they are trying to finish third, so as to start their qualifiers as late as possible. Centre-forward Diguiny got injured in the match against AEK, and up until Thursday he was training on his own, following a special program, hoping to be ready for the game versus Xanthi. Just like other teams in Greece this weekend, Atromitos dropped the price of the tickets to just 5 euros, hoping to lure to the stadium as many football fans as possible.
Xanthi had just one win in five games before hosting Apollon Smyrnis last weekend, but playing against one of the weakest teams of the league (and at home), they rose to the occasion and beat them 2-0. They took perfect advantage of Panionios’ draw, catching them on 32 points. With seven games left in the season, it feels that Xanthi and Panionios are the favourites to finish 5th, and claim the last Europa League ticket. Panathinaikos are close behind them, but they are expected to get banned by UEFA for a season, so they are taken out of the equation. Three teams are three points behind Xanthi and Panionios, the gap is small, but it has been like that for weeks now, and Xanthi as well as Panionios have managed to stay ahead of their challengers. Right-back Baxevanidis and right winger Djurickovic are unavailable due to cards.

Atromitos vs Xanthi: Head to head Stats
Four wins for Atromitos and one for Xanthi in the last five games between these two in Peristeri. Only one of those five matches (the most recent one) went over 2.5 goals.
Atromitos vs Xanthi: Prediction
Xanthi may be right behind Atromitos in the table, but in reality the difference in the quality these two have shown this season is considerable. I expect Atromitos to win. I will be very surprised if they don’t.
Atromitos vs Xanthi: Betting Tips
A simple Atromitos win pays 1.50. Xanthi have scored just twice in their last six away games, so for more than 1.62, I would risk with Atromitos not just to win, but to keep a clean sheet as well. This way, their victory pays a much better 2.30.
