Bahia vs Atletico Mineiro
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 12 November 2017
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Bahia’s double chance (1.60) and “both teams to score” (1.91) were two of the three tips here when the Salvador team visited Avai. Bahia went 1-0 down in the 17th minute after an… amateur-like mistake by their goalkeeper, Jean, but before halftime they had leveled the scored with Edigar Junior. His eighth goal of the season (in 21 appearances), was followed by his goal number nine in the 79th minute, the one that completed Bahia’s comeback and gave them all three points. Bahia have three wins and one draw in their last four matches, they could be called one of the “hottest” teams in the country at the moment, they are well-positioned to earn a Copa Sudamericana ticket, and, this may be a bit far-fetched but definitely not out of the question, they still hope for the… unthinkable, a Copa Libertadores (qualifiers, not group stage) spot in the final table.
Atletico Mineiro earned a rare – this season – home win on Thursday, when they hosted Atletico Goianiense, struggling to come on top of the weakest team in the league. Actually, Robinho and Fred’s team went down twice in the first 27 minutes(!), 0-1 and 1-2. The first time they equalized it happened thanks to a rather harsh penalty decision by the referee. The second time, it was a… throw-in that gets most of the credit, as the only thing Luan had to do was head the ball in from a close distance. Last, 65th minute, Fred sees two teammates inside the box, tries to find one of them, the ball gets deflected, goes way over the goalkeeper, 3-2, end of story. Atletico Mineiro kept control of the match in the remainder, taking advantage of the fact that their guests had totally lost heart after the way they blew their lead twice. Atletico Mineiro are 10th in the table, still with chances to take part in the qualifiers of the Copa Libertadores next season.

Bahia vs Atletico Mineiro: Head to head Stats
Bahia haven’t hosted Atletico since 2014. That game ended in a 1-1 draw. The two games before that one, had also ended in draws, 0-0 both of those.
Bahia vs Atletico Mineiro: Prediction
This is actually a big game, since the winners, if there are any, will boost their chances of finishing 8th, a position that could prove good enough to lead them to the qualifiers of the Copa Libertadores (if Gremio win the competition this season, and Flamengo as well win the Copa Sudamericana). Bahia are in awesome form, but Atletico have lost just one of their last six games away from home. All things considered, I’m leaving winners and losers aside, and I’m going with goals.
Bahia vs Atletico Mineiro: Betting Tips
“Both teams to score” pays 1.70. Over 2.5 goals is at 1.95, and combined with both teams to score it goes up to 2.20.
