Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Montenegro
Competition: International friendly
Date: 28 May 2018
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
Bosnia and Herzegovina players would love to be preparing for the World Cup finals these days, but they didn’t even finish second in their qualifying group, getting left behind both Belgium and Greece. Even so, this friendly is a special match for them, as three big BiH football figures are saying their official goodbye to the national team; Emir Spahić, Zvjezdan Misimović and Vedad Ibišević will put on the national team jersey for the last time, and the Federation set the tickets at low prices (cheapest at 5 euros, most expensive at 10), hoping to see the stadium as full as possible. Back in March, in their last friendly games, they beat Bulgaria 1-0, and drew 0-0 to Senegal. Regular goalkeeper Asmir Begović asked to miss the games against Montenegro and South Korea these days, citing family reasons. Coach Robert Prosinečki talked with him, and gave his permission.
Montenegro… sort of ran out of steam in the last crucial qualifying matches, missing even the playoffs, just like BiH. In their two March friendly games, they drew 0-0 to Cyprus and 2-2 to Turkey. Their attention is already turned to the UEFA Nations League, starting in September. With Euro 2020 already in the horizon, Montenegro are aiming at building on their good, overall, presence in the World Cup qualifiers, and make it to a big tournament for the first time in their history.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Montenegro: Head to head Stats
This is actually the first game ever between these two.
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Montenegro: Prediction
The game is held in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as previously mentioned, it’s the official “goodbye” of three big figures of BiH’s football. The hosts are considered clear favorites to win, but personally I would leave winners and losers aside, I would bet on goals instead.
Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Montenegro: Betting Tips
Bosnia and Herzegovina have played four friendly games after the end of the World Cup qualifiers, and those matches had a total of two goals. “Under 2.5 goals”, at 1.70, feels worth the risk to me. Pushing it, I would go for “under 1.5”, at 3.00 betting odds.
