Bournemouth vs Watford
Competition: Premier League
Date: 21 January 2017
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Bournemouth’s big mid table battle continues as they look to stay afloat as well as break into the top 10 at the same time. Against Watford they will have a real shot at picking up a much needed win.
Sitting now in 11th with Both Burnley and Stoke breaking into the Top 10 above them thanks to a disappointingly surprising 3-1 loss to Hull, Bournemouth. In fact, there has only been one win for Bournemouth in their last five games and that was a 3-0 victory against Swansea. And seeing as the teams around them are all on similar points, wins are big business for the team from the south coast. They have only collected four points in five games with the Swansea win and a draw against Arsenal, another game they should have won.
For Watford, they have started tumbling down the table with some pretty average performances of lat. They have gone winless in their last five games, picking up only two points as they sit in 14th with the relegation zone starting to threaten. But, much like their opponents, a win and three points will do much for their position on the log as Watford are on 23 points and Stoke in ninth re just four points above them. In fact, Bournemouth can be overtaken should Watford win this game.
Bournemouth vs Watford: Head-to-Head Stats
A very strange fixture, but this is only the second season these two have been in the top flight together, but in that time there has never been a winner. In their past three encounters, they have all ended in draws. In the first half of the season it was a 2-2 draw.
Bournemouth vs Watford: Prediction
A draw is definitely a possibility in keeping with a theme, but you have to feel that Bournemouth have more of a chance as Watford have been really poor recently and seemed to be struggling with more than just form, but rather players and their commitment – as well as injuries. Expect this to be a boosting win for the home side.
Bournemouth vs Watford: Tips
Bournemouth have been operating in threes, conceding three against Chelsea, Hull, Southampton and then scoring three against Arsenal and Swansea. They should score about three against Watford.
