Chapecoense vs Santos
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 13 November 2017
Kick-off: 23:00 CET
Third consecutive draw for Chapecoense, this time at Sao Paulo, in a… weird game, in which Chape were 2-0 up in the 60th minute, and stayed there until the 72nd, when Sao Paulo started their counterattack that saw them salvage at least a point. It sucks to have to settle for a 2-2 if you’re winning until the 83rd minute, but truth is, Chape were second best on the pitch, and should be grateful to their luck for leaving Pacaembu (not Morumbi) undefeated. They took the lead without being better than Sao Paulo, and they made it 2-0 thanks to a penalty in the second half (it was indeed a penalty), totally against the flow of the match, as Sao Paulo were missing one chance after another). Chapecoense are 14th in the table, five points clear of Sport Recife, the first team right below the relegation line.
Unacceptable. Santos were simply unacceptable at home midweek, hosting Vasco da Gama. They were supposed to be desperate to win to maintain pressure on leaders Corinthians, but they played second fiddle to their guests, losing 2-1. They did take the lead in the 64th minute thanks to yet another Ricardo Oliveira goal (his eighth in 19 appearances this season), and they WERE leading 1-0 until the 85th minute, but really, that 1-0 THAT late in the game was… totally fake, given how good (but wasteful) Vasco had been, and how below-par Santos had looked. Two fantastic Vasco goals in the dying minutes of the match left Santos with exactly what they deserved; nothing. They are now third in the table, it will take a miracle to close the gap on leaders Corinthians, but they do stand excellent chances of finishing in the top-4, which will mean a direct ticket to next season’s Copa Libertadores group stage.

Chapecoense vs Santos: Head to head Stats
One win for each, and one draw, in the three (no more) matches these two have ever played against each other in Chapeco (all in the last three years). No match had more than two goals.
Chapecoense vs Santos: Prediction
Chapecoense have stayed undefeated in five straight matches now, and I doubt they will lose to this Santos.
Chapecoense vs Santos: Betting Tips
Chape’s double chance is at just 1.38. Their win in “draw no bet” pays 1.72. If I took the risk to bet on their win (2.37) without the safety net of “draw no bet”, I would combine it with “under 2.5 goals”. This combination is at 5.00 betting odds.
