Corinthians vs Atletico Mineiro
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 26 November 2017
Kick-off: 20:00 CET
Corinthians traveled to Flamengo last weekend having just secured the Brasileirao title, their morale was… over the roof, Fla had a huge Copa Sudamericana game coming up (semifinal, first leg, against Junior, at home), someone would expect Corinthians to take advantage of the situation and get a positive result, but not only they lost, they almost got embarrassed, conceding three goals for the first time in… (guess..) almost a year!! Last time a Corinthians opponent had scored three goals past the Sao Paulo side was in December 2016, when Cruzeiro beat them 3-2 in Belo Horizonte. That 3-0 defeat to Flamengo hurt Corinthians’ pride, but… nothing more than that. Against Atletico Mineiro they’ll have another chance to celebrate their big success, winning the Serie A title, succeeding their city rivals, Palmeiras, on the throne.
W-o-w… I thought Rómulo Otero’s first goal against Coritiba last weekend was excellent, but what he did later in the first half was… Seriously, I could write 500 words trying to describe it, but it wouldn’t do it justice. Take a break from reading this preview, go to youtube or wherever, and watch the highlights of that match. Three things: 1) He scored from… a meter, maybe a meter and a half inside Coritiba’s half of the pitch. 2) Fred ran to his Venezuelan teammate to celebrate, with his hands on his head, unable to believe what he had just seen. 3) Robinho, Robinho, no other than Robinho, bowed to his teammate, literally bowed, showing him his admiration. Atletico won 3-0 doing absolutely anything they wanted on the pitch, and not allowing Coritiba a single chance. They finished last weekend sitting 8th in the table, having very good chances of playing Copa Libertadores football next season. As for Robinho, midweek, he was found guilty (in Italy) of sexual assault, in a case that has to do with something that happened five years ago. He was sentenced to time in prison, but it’s still early to tell for sure that he will really-really have this – impossible to believe – fate.

Corinthians vs Atletico Mineiro: Head to head Stats
Three wins for Corinthians, one for Atletico, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Sao Paulo. None of those five matches had more than two goals.
Corinthians vs Atletico Mineiro: Prediction
Corinthians are considered relatively clear favorites to win the game, but personally, I wouldn’t touch their victory, not even at 2.25. I’m definitely betting on goals in this match, not on who wins and who loses.
Corinthians vs Atletico Mineiro: Betting Tips
“Both teams to score” pays 1.65, not fantastic, but… “Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.80 betting odds, still not… mind-blowing, but I do consider it very-very probable.
