Cruzeiro vs Fluminense
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 12 November 2017
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
Almost a collapse… Maybe “almost” is redundant… Four points in their last five matches, that’s all Cruzeiro have managed, a record which is one of the four worst in the Serie A at the moment. Only Sport Recife, Ponte Preta and Atletico Goianiense, three of the four teams that feature below the relegation line, have done worse than Cruzeiro this last month. Midweek, Mano Menezes’ team lost 2-0 at Flamengo, looking very-very pale. They had just a couple of… kind of decent chances to score in the whole game, allowing Flamengo to take a – very – small revenge. Fla were the losers in the Copa do Brasil final in which Cruzeiro came up victorious, winning the title, and a direct ticket to next season’s Copa Libertadores group stage. Cruzeiro are currently sitting 6th in the table, but… the way they’re going, they could finish closer to the middle of the table. Even if that happens, they will still be in the Copa Libertadores group stage, no one can take that away from them.
“Both teams to score”, at 1.87, was the only suggestion I felt comfortable making when Fluminense hosted Coritiba on Thursday, explaining that the way I saw things, the game was more open to any result than possibly any other game midweek in Brazil. Flu went from 1-0 down to 2-1 up, but in the end didn’t get more than a single point. That 2-2 was good enough to push them 12th in the table, taking advantage of Atletico Paranaense’s loss to Corinthians. Fluminense have been struggling with their defense since day one of the season, and it’s very interesting that even teams like Ponte Preta and Avai, below the relegation line, have conceded less goals than Fluminense in this Serie A campaign.

Cruzeiro vs Fluminense: Head to head Stats
Four wins for Cruzeiro and one for Fluminense in the last five games between these two in Belo Horizonte. Three of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Cruzeiro vs Fluminense: Prediction
A couple of weeks ago, I would have backed Cruzeiro to win this game. The way they have looked in their last matches though, and seeing their win pay no more than 1.66, I’m super tempted to bet against them, despite not being fold of this season’s Fluminense.
Cruzeiro vs Fluminense: Betting Tips
Fluminense’s double chance pays 2.25, a risk, no doubt, but one I feel is worth taking. I consider this 2.25 good enough to avoid risking with number of goals.
