Deportivo Capiata vs 3 de Febrero
Competition: Paraguay Apertura
Date: 9 March 2018
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
That penalty Deportivo Capiatá were given in the 88th minute of their game at Cerro Porteño, I didn’t think it was a penalty back then, I still don’t think it was a penalty having seen the replay 3-4 times, the hand is definitely extended, but the ball is going outside the box, it’s obvious that Cerro’s player had zero intention of finding the ball, he had no reason, but… regardless, I find it… almost “refreshing” that such a penalty was given to a small team at the stadium of a big team in the 89th minute of a match, with the score at 2-1 for the hosts. Capiatá scored twice, had more chances, but still, looking at how the whole game went, I feel that 2-2 is slightly flattering for them. Dionisio Pérez got seriously injured in that game. The 31-year-old centre-forward is expected to stay sidelined for no less than seven months. Capiatá are 4th in the table, having lost only one game thus far.
Marcio Marolla is no longer 3 de Febrero’s coach, two points in five matches was considered too little by the board of directors, he got fired, and José Arrúa has been hired in his place, with the tough job of leading the team to better results. It was mostly the last two games, the humiliations by Sol de América and Libertad (4-1, both games), that cost Marolla his job. Things would have been very different if 3 de Febrero’s defence and goalkeeper had done the… basics against Libertad, there were moments they looked like amateurs, but… something had to change (the board of directors felt), and, as is usually the case, the coach was the easiest victim. 3 de Febrero are still to win, and it will be a major surprise if they pick up all three points in Capiatá.

Deportivo Capiata vs 3 de Febrero: Head to head Stats
Deportivo Capiatá hosted 3 de Febrero twice in 2014, one game ended in a 2-2 draw, and one ended with 3 de Febrero as 3-2 winners.
Deportivo Capiata vs 3 de Febrero: Prediction
I expect Deportivo Capiatá to win, despite the change of coach at 3 de Febrero, and the positive, usually, effect this has on teams, as the players are given an extra motive to show things to their new coach.
Deportivo Capiata vs 3 de Febrero: Betting Tips
A simple Capiatá win pays 1.90. Combined with over 2.5 goals this goes up to a much better 2.20.
