General Diaz vs Guarani
Competition: Paraguay Apertura
Date: 11 March 2018
Kick-off: 21:45 CET
General Díaz are one of those teams that… leave you scratching your head. They have been the worst performing team in the Apertura in the first five game weeks, they have just two points, but they earned a hard to believe 0-0 draw in Guayaquil versus Barcelona, and midweek they beat them 2-1 in Luque, qualifying for the next Copa Sudamericana round. It was their first win in seven official matches in 2018, and what a win, as it meant their qualification for the next round of an international competition.
Someone could write a whole book for all the things Guaraní did wrong in their 1-0 defeat to Independiente de Campo Grande last Monday, but now that some days have passed, what has stayed with me the most is how they were trying to equalise in the second half, having just a couple of players on the edge of Inde’s box, and eight spread around the field, making hardly any move to receive the ball, just… looking at the guy who had the ball, as if he would miraculously create a scoring chance. Guaraní missed… I don’t know how many chances, a penalty included, but on the other hand, they could be losing 0-2 or worse in the first half, when Inde were super dangerous every time they visited Guaraní’s box. Bottom line, Sebastián Saja and his players got outsmarted, that’s my impression, they were not really prepared to face Inde, unlike their opponents who seemed much better-prepared, aided of course by the fact that they were the ones who took (and kept) the lead.

General Diaz vs Guarani: Head to head Stats
Two wins for General Díaz and three for Guaraní in the last five games between these two with General Díaz as hosts. All five matches had between three and seven(!) goals.
General Diaz vs Guarani: Prediction
General Díaz just played a very good game to beat Barcelona, Guaraní just lost to Independiente de Campo Grande, the hosts are given as many chances as Guaraní to win the game, but despite last week’s huge disappointment, I’m backing Guaraní to bounce back. They do have a better team, and I expect them to look VERY improved compared to last Monday.
General Diaz vs Guarani: Betting Tips
With Guaraní’s win paying 1.95, I wouldn’t look much further for something else. Acting a bit greedy, I could go for “Guaraní and over 2.5 combined goals”, at 4.33. “Over 2.5” alone is at 1.80.
