Jeonbuk Motors vs Kashiwa Reysol
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 13 February 2018
Kick-off: 11:30 CET
Jeonbuk Motors are competing in the AFC Champions League for the 11th time and are by far the club with the biggest number of appearances among the 16 east region participants. They won the championship in Korea last season, earning a ticket directly to the AFC CL group stage. The new season in Korea hasn’t started yet, so their last official match was on November 19, almost three months ago. Jeonbuk Motors won the AFC Champions League title in 2016 beating Al Ain in the finals. They had qualified for the 2017 AFC CL campaign as well, but early February last year they were found guilty of manipulating match results in the K-League and were banned by the AFC. It was a major blow to the club’s prestige, but they are back, determined to regain the title they couldn’t defend last year.
Having finished fourth in last season’s J-League, Kashiwa Reysol had to play a potentially dangerous match against Muang Thong United before making it to the AFC Champions League group stage. They won 3-0, making things very simple for them in the second half, scoring their first two goals in the first 16 minutes of that period. The new championship season in Japan starts the last weekend of February, so that game against Muang Thong United is their only official one since December 23, when they lost the Emperor Cup title to Yokohama F. Marinos. This is their fourth appearance in the AFC CL. Back in 2015, when they last competed, they finished first in their group, eliminated Suwon Bluewings in the round of 16, but didn’t manage to pass over Guangzhou Evergrande in the quarterfinals, despite earning a 1-1 draw in China in the return leg. They had lost 3-1 at home.

Jeonbuk Motors vs Kashiwa Reysol: Head to head Stats

Jeonbuk Motors vs Kashiwa Reysol: Prediction
I expect favourites Jeonbuk Motors to win, and I won’t be surprised if that happens by two goals.
Jeonbuk Motors vs Kashiwa Reysol: Betting Tips
A simple Jeonbuk Motors win pays 1.83, which is good enough, I reckon, to avoid risking further with special bets. Jeonbuk’s “over 1.5” pays 2.00, I do expect them to score at least twice, but the difference between that and a simple win of theirs is so small that I find the risk not worth it.
