Lazio vs Vitesse
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 23 November 2017
Kick-off: 19:00 CET
After winning an amazing nine games in a row, Lazio lost last weekend to Roma, 2-1, technically as guests. They are sitting 5th in the table of Italy’s Serie A, but with a game in hand, meaning that they could “catch” Juventus at 3rd (even though fourth-placed Roma also have a game in hand). Regardless of their loss in Rome’s derby last weekend, Lazio have been having an impressive season, with nine wins in 12 Serie A matches, and 12 points in four Europa League group stage games so far. They have already qualified for the last 32 of the competition, and their main target in their last two matches is to improve even further their position in UEFA’s rankings. Remember, every point counts, and to be more specific, it will count next season, when draw time comes, no matter which competition Lazio will be in.
Sitting at the bottom of the table with just one point from four matches, Vitesse have been one of the worst performing teams in this group stage, with the tough draw not really being an excuse. It would be an excuse if they had done better against Zulte-Waregem, but all they managed in two games against the Belgian side was just one point. Last weekend they lost 4-2 at Groningen, their third loss in their last four matches in all competitions (they have a draw as well). Generally, they have won just one of their last nine games, even though, amazingly, right before that, they had beaten Ajax in Amsterdam(!). They are 6th in the Netherlands championship, in the group of teams that would battle it out against each other for a Europa League ticket if this were the end of the season.

Their game earlier this season, was the first ever between these two.
Lazio vs Vitesse: Prediction
Any other result but a Lazio win will be a big-big surprise.
Lazio vs Vitesse: Betting Tips
A simple Lazio win pays 1.45. My guess is, they will look eager to bounce back from that loss to Roma, “eager” enough to score as much as needed to push this game over 2.5 goals. Their win combined with that, comes at 2,00 betting odds.
