Lokomotiv Moscow vs FC Copenhagen
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 23 November 2017
Kick-off: 19:00 CET
Lokomotiv Moscow’s home loss to Sheriff Tiraspol three weeks ago was one of the biggest surprises in this group stage, for three reasons: first, they are leading in Russia’s championship, and they were facing a… modest team from Moldova. Second, they took the lead, and still lost 1-2. Last, all this happened at home, not even in Moldova. Hard to believe, but… that’s football. That defeat pushed them third in the table, one point behind Sheriff and FC Copenhagen. It’s still… under control, the situation, they need to beat Copenhagen and get something from their game at Zlin in two weeks, on the last day of the group stage, it’s not some… crazy scenario, but they definitely need to look much more serious than three weeks ago. Last weekend they beat Anzhi 1-0 away from home, remaining first in Russia’s Premier League, three points above second-placed Zenit.
It feels… surreal, that a team that have scored in just two of their four games so far in the group, and have just one win, are actually leading, but that’s exactly the situation with FC Copenhagen. After three draws (two of those goalless) in their first three matches, they beat Zlin three weeks ago at home, and are now sharing the top spot with Sheriff, having very good chances of finishing in the top two. The Danish side know that even if they lose in Moscow and Sheriff beat Zlin at home, it will still depend on them, as they are hosting the Tiraspol team in two weeks. A simple 1-0 win there, will be enough for Copenhagen to finish – most probably – second. In their championship, they have back-to-back losses, which have left them 6th in the table, 14 whole points behind leaders Brøndby.

Lokomotiv Moscow vs FC Copenhagen: Head to head Stats
Lokomotiv have hosted Copenhagen once before, back in 2007. It was a Europe League match, group stage, with actually the Danish side won 1-0.
Lokomotiv Moscow vs FC Copenhagen: Prediction
Despite dropping the ball three weeks ago in their home game against Sheriff, I expect Lokomotiv to show that they have learned their lesson, and beat FC Copenhagen.
Lokomotiv Moscow vs FC Copenhagen: Betting Tips
Lokomotiv’s win pays 1.95, which I consider good enough to avoid risking further with special bets. Copenhagen have conceded just one goal in four group matches so far, so if 1.95 is not enough for you, you could risk with “Lokomotiv and under 2.5 goals”.
