Manchester City vs Swansea
Competition: Premier League
Date: 05 February 2017
Kick-off: 14:30 CET
A moral boosting win at West Ham in midweek would have made Pep Guardiola feel a lot better about things recently, but when the Citizens welcome Swansea in their upcoming match, it will be back to business as usual as City try and make a huge leap into the very congested top four.
City are on 46 points after their 4-0 win over West Ham, and between them in fifth then Tottenham in second there is only a single point. Spurs are on 47 points, but still have to play Middlesbrough, while City are on 46 along with Liverpool who lost to Hull in their latest match. It is a chance for City to once again climb the og and get on the race to chasing Chelsea, but they will have to beat Swansea who may well be a tough one as in their last four games they have won three.
Swansea have made a play and escaped the relegation zone, just, with their three wins in four. It also has seen them collect two consecutive wins in a week as they defeated first Liverpool in a stunning 3-2 win, then they managed to beat Southampton 2-1 most recently. Swansea are now equal on points with Leicester and Middlesbrough ahead of them, but both those teams are still to play as well, so the race is certainly on not to fall back in the the relegation zone.
Manchester City vs Swansea: Head-to-Head Stats
Swansea will not want to dwell too much on the history of this fixture as in 11 encounters they have managed only one win, and just two draws. The Citizens have all the cards having won eight of the 11 matches. Back in September, City also won, this time 3-1.
Manchester City vs Swansea: Prediction
It really should be a mere formality for City as they take on a side that is battling relegation. It does not matter too much that City are going through a rough patch and that Guardiola is finding it hard to adapt, they still have more than enough class to win this game by a good few goals.
Manchester City vs Swansea: Tips
Swansea do like a scrap, and like to score goals at the expense of defence, so bet on them to get at least one, but City could well score another three – there will be lots of goals in this game.
