Northampton Saints vs Bath
Competition: Aviva Premiership Rugby
Date: 15 September 2017
Kick off: 19:45 CET
Bath have the feeling about them that this could be their season after some good wins early one, meantime though, the Saints are looking like they will be dogged by the same issues as last year.
Bath are two from two and have a major scalp in their bag. They are under the leadership of Todd Blackadder, and having already turned them around from their horror season under Mike Ford, they are back on it this season with renewed energy. Bath have at their disposal some star players, but they are also working on a winning culture. Their first two matches would have looked like real tough ones at the beginning of the season but after beating Leicester Tigers at Welford road, then toppling the mighty Saracens at home, Bath have shown they are championship material already. It was a tight win against the Tigers, 27-23, but a win away from home is always a positive, and then the win against the Saracens was similarly tight, 31-21, but a big boost as they have struggled against the recent champions before.
The Saints are one from two, and while that does not sound like the worst result, the performances have been poor – they have faced the same opposition as Bath – in Saracens and the Tigers, but they were given an almighty hiding from the Sarries. Away from home it was a 55-24 demolition as the Saracens put on a class performance that the Saints could not keep up with. They did however bounce back against the tigers – at home – beating them 24-11, however the Tigers have not been up to par as the season kicked off and it could be a really poor season for them having lost their coach and director of rugby. The Saints will have to rely on home advantage to try and sneak across the line for this one.

Northampton Saints vs Bath: head to Head Stats
The Saints hold sway against Bath in a big way historically. In the last 10 encounters the Saint have won seven and there has also been a draw to go along with Bath’s two wins. However, those two wins from Bath have been the last two games as they have taken over the recent form.
Northampton Saints vs Bath: Prediction
Bath have looked like one of the better teams through the first two games this season, especially considering the opposition they have played. However, the Saints have shown that at home they are much better. Bath will find it hard but they have the ability to make it three from three.
