Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland
Competition: England Championship
Date: 30 December 2017
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Nottingham Forest look… doomed to spending the season in mediocrity, hovering around the middle of the table. Right after earning a decent 1-1 draw at Preston North End, they hosted Sheffield Wednesday midweek, a team lower than them in the table, and lost practically with their hands down. The score was at 0-2 by halftime, and even in the second half it was Sheffield Wednesday who looked more motivated and better prepared to win the game, winning it indeed, 3-0. Nottingham Forest have picked up just four points of the possible 18 in their last six matches, beating only Bolton Wanderers at home, a team below the relegation line. They are 13th in the table, 10 points behind the top-6, and 11 above the relegation line.
The timing looked perfect, Sheffield United had had back-to-back poor results, so Sunderland were hoping to take advantage of that and… snatch at least a point midweek, away from home, but in practice, things turned out very-very different. Sunderland lasted 36 minutes. That’s when they went 1-0 down. By the 62nd minute, the score was already at 3-0, with the visitors having forgotten all about leaving Sheffield with a positive result. It was Sunderland’s first defeat after earning five points in their previous three matches, they best run they had enjoyed since August. They are 22nd in the table, right below the relegation line, level on points with Bolton Wanderers, and just a single point behind Burton Albion (whom actually they beat away from home just over a month ago).

Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland: Head to head Stats
Nottingham Forest haven’t hosted Sunderland since 2008. That League Cup game was decided in extra-time, with the visitors winning 2-1.
Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland: Prediction
Nottingham Forest are considered rather clear favourites to win the game. Not without reservations, I’m backing them to win, only because I have very little faith in Sunderland to earn a positive result.
Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland: Betting Tips
Nottingham Forest’s win pays 2.00, and as previously mentioned, I suggest it not without reservations, but still, against this Sunderland, the hosts have an awesome opportunity to bounce back and finish the year as well as possible.
