Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 4 March 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Did he really get injured? Did he get that injured that he could hardly stand? Only Oscar Garcia knows, he and those around him after he got hit by a roll of paper last Sunday, at PAOK’s stadium, seconds before kick-off of PAOK vs Olympiakos. He ran to the dressing room, Olympiakos people kept the door locked for 20 minutes not allowing even the game’s official doctor to see the Spaniard, and then they left the stadium altogether. Olympiakos claim the game should be given to them, three points, without playing. It remains to be seen what will be decided. They say they still believe in winning the championship title, despite having a -3 hanging above their own head as well, for things their fans did after the Super League derby against AEK.
Something… weird happened 48 hours before this derby; Panathinaikos players got paid(!), and not just they, but also people working at the club’s offices. Money was found, part of what was owed to the players was given, a very welcome boost for the “Greens”, just before facing their biggest rivals. Coach Ouzounidis said that at this point, Panathinaikos look better on the pitch than Olympiakos, and he may have a point. Last weekend they beat Lamia 2-0 at home, rather easily, and just before that they had beaten AEL in Larissa as well, a super tough place to leave with all three points from. Panathinaikos are trying to finish 5th, but even then, most probably they won’t compete in the Europa League, as they are expected to get banned for a season (more money trouble). Still, to… wipe that ban off, they need to qualify first.

Three wins for Olympiakos, one for Panathinaikos, and a draw, in the last five games between these two with Olympiakos as hosts. Three of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos: Prediction
Olympiakos are considered huge favourites to win, but… call me suicidal, I’m actually backing Panathinaikos to earn a draw. The club may be facing all sorts of huge problems off the field since day one this season, but the team itself, the players, the coach, they have shown guts and tons of professionalism, earning several decent results, even playing good football in some games. Plus, their motive against Olympiakos is the… biggest possible. Do keep in mind, the game is played behind closed doors, as Olympiakos are banned.
Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos: Betting Tips
Panathinaikos’ double chance is at 3.00(!). Obviously, draw (4.20) feels way-way more probable than a Panathinaikos win, but even 3.00 is great, I reckon.
