Panetolikos vs Platanias
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 11 February 2018
Kick-off: 16:15 CET
Panetolikos have been a different team ever since Dellas took over as coach. Not only they have earned positive results, like last weekend at Panathinaikos (0-0), but maybe most of all, you can notice a… change in their philosophy. For example, Dellas said after that 0-0 in Athens last week that he and his players left the stadium feeling half-disappointed, because they earned “only” one point. Panetolikos are 12th in the table, six points higher than 15th-placed Kerkyra, the first team below the relegation line, but they shouldn’t get threatened, not so much because they have build a small but important gap between them and the relegation zone, but mostly because they have the roster and, recently, the… proper attitude to start looking higher than just avoiding relegation. A few days ago they signed 24-year-old Kevin Itabel, an Argentine right midfielder who is leaving his country for the first time.
It seems to be… game over for Platanias. Mathematically, there are still 30 points to be fought for, in 10 matches, but after their 1-1 draw to Apollon Smyrnis last weekend at home, their real chances of avoiding relegation have been reduced to… very-very low. Their five-point distance to Apollon stayed the same, missing their biggest opportunity (at home) to cut it down to two. I repeat, there are several, even many matches left, but… if you are last in the table, and you’re hosting a direct rival, and all you manage is a 1-1 draw, then… it’s like screaming out loud that you don’t really deserve to avoid relegation. Hatzinikolaou, their coach, admitted that things have gotten very difficult for them after their last result.

Panetolikos vs Platanias: Prediction
A month ago, I wouldn’t feel so confident about Panetolikos’ chances of winning this match. Now, I will be very surprised if they don’t earn all three points, and actually I can see them win by more than just one goal.
Panetolikos vs Platanias: Betting Tips
A simple Panetolikos win pays 1.60. For more than that, I would risk with Panetolikos’ over 1.5, at 2.00 betting odds, expecting them to score at least twice.
