Platanias vs Lamia
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 3 March 2018
Kick-off: 14:00 CET
Last weekend I expected Platanias to lose at AEL Larissa, and the game to stay under 2.5 goals. Platanias lost 1-0, their third consecutive defeat without scoring. They have just one victory in their last 21 games, Greece Super League and Greece Cup combined. To have any chance of avoiding relegation, they need to win this one, against a team that are not that far from the relegation zone. Platanias decided to set all match tickets at just 5 euros, which is the cheapest of the cheapest tickets you can find these days in Greece (usually there are tickets at 10 euros, but setting the price at 5 is a clear message that Platanias are desperate to attract to the stadium as many people as possible). Spanish right-back Nili left behind him an injury issue, and is available. Left-back (and captain) Vanderson trained on his own for days, and up until 48 hours before kick-off his presence in the game was a major doubt.
(Potentially) Desperate times call for (sort of) desperate measures, so left winger Wanderson and defensive midfielders Anastasopoulos and Omo are back to Lamia, a week after getting “cut” by coach Tennes for “lack of discipline”. They missed the game at Panathinaikos last weekend, a 2-0 Lamia defeat, which kept the team just four points above the relegation zone. Tennes felt that this is no time to… teach anyone a lesson, he needs all healthy players, the three are healthy, so they returned to training, and could even feature against Platanias. Lamia have earned just one point from their last five Super League matches, they and bottom-of-the-table Platanias are the only teams with three defeats in a row, and if they lose this game they get in serious trouble.

Platanias vs Lamia: Prediction
Platanias are considered – by betting companies – slight favourites to win the game. Personally, I’m not touching their win. I prefer to bet on goals.
Platanias vs Lamia: Betting Tips
“Under 2.5 goals” is at just 1.45. Pushing it, I’m going with under 1.5, at 2.35, not expecting goals, but even if one of the two takes the lead, I doubt there will be a second goal in the match.
