Ponte Preta vs Vitoria
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 26 November 2017
Kick-off: 20:00 CET
Last weekend’s game at Fluminense wasn’t exactly a… final for Ponte Preta, but it was definitely a huge-huge game, not only because it could have gotten them out of the relegation zone, but also because it would have dragged Flu into the group of teams fighting to avoid relegation in the last two game weeks. The more (teams involved in that fight), the merrier (would have been) for Ponte, but their 2-0 loss not only kept them below the relegation line, but also pushed Fluminense up to a seven-point advantage, perfectly safe for them, as there are only two matches left. Ponte Preta had three-four chances to score, it’s not like they… parked the bus hoping for a 0-0, but they definitely found opposite them the best Fluminense of this last month, and quite naturally, succumbed to them. This game against Vitoria is possibly the “biggest” match of this game week, in the sense that it involves two teams right below and right above the relegation line. This, yes, does feel like a final for Ponte, and it’s great for them that they are playing it at home.
If only they had lasted 15 more minutes… A week ago, Vitoria hosted Cruzeiro, took the lead in the 21st minute from the penalty spot, missed chances to score more, got saved by their post twice, by their goalkeeper on two, at least, more occasions, the minutes were passing by, they were getting closer and closer to a win of pure gold, but in the 75th minute their goalkeeper just couldn’t reach Alisson’s header (given where the Cruzeiro player sent the ball, I doubt any goalkeeper could have reached it), and just like that, Vitoria’s earning form that match was reduced to one point. Still good, it kept them a point higher than three teams that are right below the relegation line, but they are visiting one of those in this game, Ponte Preta, obliged to get at least a draw. The fact that they have lost just one of their last six games, gives them courage. To really celebrate though, they need to win, and that’s something they’ve done only once in their last 10(!) matches, both at home and away.

Ponte Preta vs Vitoria: Head to head Stats
One win for Ponte, one for Vitoria, and a draw, in the last three games between these two in Campinas (their earlier games were played more than 10 years ago). Only one of those three matches went over 2.5 goals.
Ponte Preta vs Vitoria: Prediction
Ponte Preta are considered rather clear favorites to win this game, but personally I feel draw is more probable.
Ponte Preta vs Vitoria: Betting Tips
Draw alone pays 3.10. Vitoria’s double chance, a more reserved option that still includes draw, is at 1.67 betting odds.
