Slask Wroclaw vs Zaglebie Lubin
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 26 November 2017
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
Slask Wroclaw have lost four of their last five matches (they only beat pitiful Pogon Szczecin at home), and I wonder how worse can they do without the four(!) players they are missing in this match, all due to cards. Augusto, Michał Chrapek, Jakub Kosecki, Mariusz Pawelec, all four, out, leaving their coach with limited options. Last weekend, Slask disappointed again, losing 2-1 at home to Arka Gdynia. Truth is, a draw would have been a fair result, as Slask missed a good number of chances, mostly because Arka’s goalkeeper, Steinbors, was… his usual self, meaning reliable, if not impressive. Three points from their last five matches have left the Wroclaw side 10th in the table, in desperate need of a big win to boost their morale, and improve their position before the long winter break.
Not even the international break helped Zaglebie Lubin particularly to… regroup, and start looking again the way they looked from the start of the season until mid October, when they were one of the two best teams in the country, based on results, as well as performances. Last weekend, playing at home, all they managed against Korona Kielce was a goalless draw. Sure, Korona are… hot for some time now, but that was Zaglebie’s chance to draw a line and start their comeback. They didn’t. They remained 7th in the table, far below where we got used to seeing them until a few weeks earlier. The only positive that came out of that 0-0 to Korona was that they kept a clean sheet, first time after six matches.

Slask Wroclaw vs Zaglebie Lubin: Head to head Stats
Three wins for Slask and two for Zaglebie in the last five games between these two in Wroclaw. Only one of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Slask Wroclaw vs Zaglebie Lubin: Prediction
If Slask were playing without so many players missing due to cards, I would consider backing them to avoid defeat. Now, I’m leaning towards a Zaglebie win, despite the fact that they haven’t won a match since mid October. As for away from home, last time they won in the championship was in July(!). Taking these into consideration, backing them to win looks… almost absurd, but I repeat, Slask’s missing players are many and important.
Slask Wroclaw vs Zaglebie Lubin: Betting Tips
Zaglebie’s win in “draw no bet” is at 1.72 betting odds. Personally, for reasons already explained, I would take the extra risk to bet on their win, at 2.45, without the safety net of “draw no bet”.
