Sol de America vs Deportivo Capiata
Competition: Paraguay Apertura
Date: 13 March 2018
Kick-off: 23:00 CET
It’s been a few days now, but I’m still in awe of how Sol de América reacted after being reduced to 10 men in the 55th minute of their game at Libertad. They were already losing 1-0, they were down to 10 men, they were playing away from home against a team that had 10 points from their previous four matches, a team undefeated the first five game weeks of the Apertura, and still, Sol not only avoided defeat, but they went on to win the game(!!), despite having everything against them. Sol’s double chance at 2.20 was my only tip back then, I explained why I was taking that massive risk, betting against Libertad, and to be fully honest, when Sol were down to 10 men I felt the bet was lost, but… hat off to Sol, they showed even with 10 men what a good team they can be, something they had shown in every single match before last Friday, even in the two they had lost. Richard Franco, the central midfielder who got sent-off, is obviously unavailable. Ten points for Sol, from six matches thus far.
Deportivo Capiatá’s win over 3 de Febrero on Friday was paying 1.62 when I wrote the preview, but right before kick-off it had risen to 1.90(!), raising… questions. 3 de Febrero had just changed coach, usually that’s something that… at least short-term, does some good to a team, but still, I trusted Capiatá to win, and the game to go over 2.5 goals (2.20). After all, it did, and Capiatá did win, taking the lead in the very first minute(!), getting equalised early in the second half, and finally scoring the winner in the 85th minute. Eleven points for Capiatá from six matches, fourth spot in the table, better than what they should be expecting. From the few teams that are not Asunción- based, they are first, some source of pride for them.

Sol de America vs Deportivo Capiata: Head to head Stats
One win for Sol, two for Capiatá, and two draws, in the last five games between these two with Sol as hosts. Three of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Sol de America vs Deportivo Capiata: Prediction
I’m backing the hosts to win, most probably in a game that will have three goals or more. Sol have played two games at home thus far, won both, and they had a total of 10 goals (the games, not Sol alone). Capiatá’s three away games had a total of nine goals.
Sol de America vs Deportivo Capiata: Betting Tips
Sol’s win pays 2.00 and is my main tip, since their double chance is at just 1.36. “Over 2.5 goals” pays 1.72, and these two combined “promise” something around 3.00.
