Suwon Bluewings vs Kashima Antlers
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 21 February 2018
Kick-off: 11:00 CET
Dejan Damjanović may be 36, that’s what Seoul thought of when they let him go after the end of last season, they probably thought his good days are over, but against Sydney FC last week he showed that he’s still got it, scoring twice. Truth is, he looked… rusty in a couple of missed chances before opening the scoring in the 62nd minute, but his shot in Suwon’s first goal was pure class. He missed two more chances later, but did convert the penalty Suwon won, and with those two goals he became the second highest scorer in the AFC Champions League history. Suwon Bluewings were much better than Sydney FC, and deservedly left Australia with all three points. No game for them last weekend, as the new season in Korea starts early March.
Kashima Antlers were considered favourites last week when they hosted Shanghai Shenhua, but given how the game went, they must be feeling content with that 1-1 draw. They went 1-0 down in the first half, leveled the score five minutes into the second one, lost two good chances after the 80th minute to make it 2-1, but saw a Shanghai Shenhua shot hit their post 30 seconds before the end of added time. All things considered, that 1-1 wasn’t the worst that could have happened to them. No game for them last weekend, as the new season in Japan is starting in a few days.

Suwon Bluewings vs Kashima Antlers: Head to head Stats
Suwon have hosted Kashima twice before. They thrashed them 4-1 in 2009, and drew 1-1 two years later. Both were AFC Champions League group stage games.
Suwon Bluewings vs Kashima Antlers: Prediction
The two teams are given practically equal chances to win the game, which gives you an idea how tight it’s expected to be. Personally, I’m leaving winners and losers aside, I’m focusing on goals instead.
Suwon Bluewings vs Kashima Antlers: Betting Tips
I feel the game is extremely tricky, picking a winner or even a team not to lose is something I find practically impossible, but I do see goals. “Both teams to score” is my main tip, at 1.72 betting odds, and “over 2.5 combined goals” is my slightly riskier one, at 1.91.
