3 de Febrero vs Independiente CG
Competition: Paraguay Clausura
Date: 3 November 2018
Kick-off: 23:00 CET
Heartbreak for 3 de Febrero, deep into added time last weekend, when they visited Cerro Porteño. They missed a penalty, they took the lead soon after that, Cerro missed a penalty as well (playing with 10 men), added time started with 3 de Febrero earning a huge 0-1 victory, but they just couldn’t hold on to it. Even if they had left La Nueva Olla with all three points, they would still be top favorites to get relegated, let alone now, without those two extra points. Midweek, yet another heartbreak; their Copa Paraguay game against Sportivo Luqueño ended without goals. The match went to penalties, and there, 3 de Febrero lost. Penalties-aside, they haven’t lost in their last seven matches, Copa Paraguay and Clausura combined.
What a second half that was last weekend, between Independiente de Campo Grande and Sol de América… The visitors took the lead, Inde made it 2-1, but Sol managed to equalize, so the two teams were left with one point each. In what either way was a spectacular second half, THE highlight was Nico Martínez’s “gol olímpico” in the 71st minute, Inde’s second. That’s how goals from direct corner kicks are called in South America. Absolutely perfect execution. Inde could have won the game late, if the referee had given them what appeared to be a rather clear penalty. Independiente are 6th in the “tabla acumulada”, five points ahead of Deportivo Santaní and Guaraní. If the season were over today, not only they would be avoiding relegation, but they’d also be earning a Copa Sudamericana ticket.

3 de Febrero vs Independiente CG: Head to head Stats
One win for 3 de Febrero, three for Inde, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Ciudad del Este.
3 de Febrero vs Independiente CG: Prediction
The hosts are considered favorites to win, but they’ve won just one of their eight home matches in the Clausura. Inde on the other hand, have a very poor record as guests, but in their last game they came close to earning a positive result at Libertad, and just before that they had triumphed 0-3 at Nacional, so they’ve shown signs of improvement on the road.
3 de Febrero vs Independiente CG: Betting Tips
I like Inde’s chances of leaving Ciudad del Este with at least one point. Their double chance is at 1.66, and their win in “draw no bet” at 2.41.
