3 de Febrero vs Sol de America
Competition: Paraguay Clausura
Date: 9 September 2018
Kick-off: 00:30 CET
3 de Febrero remain in a dire position in the “promedio” table, they are top favorites to get relegated, but last weekend they earned a golden point at Libertad, and before that, they had won back-to-back Clausura games, and another one in the Copa Paraguay. In other words, they show they have… pulse, they still do, and either way, at this point, they’ve got nothing to lose, they play in every game as if it’s the last game of the season for them, and their “survival” in the top division depends on it. Coach Eduardo Rivera is glad to have defender Hugo Espínola back. He missed the game versus Libertad, because of a clause in his contract (he plays at 3 de Febrero on loan from Libertad).
“Both teams to score” was my main tip last weekend when Sol de América hosted Nacional. They drew 1-1, a result that wasn’t really good for any of the two. It was Éver Almeida’s first game in charge (in his third time as Sol coach, 18 whole years after the second one). Midweek, the Villa Elisa side finally won a game, even in the Copa Paraguay, against a lowly opponent. They had won just one out of their 10 matches after the World Cup finals, and had lost three of their last four, so they were desperate to bounce back, even at the expense of a team from a lower division.

3 de Febrero beat Sol at home in the Apertura, 2-1, earlier this year. Before that, they hadn’t hosted them since 2014 (draw and win for Sol).
3 de Febrero vs Sol de America: Prediction
Sol are considered slight favorites to win the game, but 3 de Febrero have been doing very well lately, so I’m backing them to earn at least a draw.
