AEK Athens vs OFI Crete
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 10 February 2019
Kick-off: 14:00 CET
Thanks to a serious refereeing mistake in the 86th minute (a penalty that wasn’t a penalty, but a “simple” foul outside the box), AEK Athens beat Atromitos 0-1 on Thursday, making a big step towards qualifying for the Cup semifinals. It was Manolo Jiménez’s debut at AEK, after his return to the club, following Marinos Ouzounidis’ departure, right after their 1-1 draw at home with PAOK last weekend. AEK sit third in the table, on 37 points, 14 behind leaders PAOK, and eight behind second-placed Olympiakos. They are dreaming of winning their case regarding three points that were deducted from them earlier in this season. If PAOK beat Olympiakos this weekend, and AEK beat OFI, the gap between the Athens and the Piraeus side will be down to five points, AEK are visiting Olympiakos next weekend, and there is always that asterisk regarding the three points deducted. The team that finishes second in Greece, plays in the Champions League qualifiers.
OFI are in serious-serious trouble, and I’m not referring to the fact that they are 13th in the table, “flirting” with relegation; midweek, they got officially accused of having manipulated the result of a match last season, and the penalty they are facing is relegation, plus, a massive fine of over 3m euros. There is no final decision yet, OFI have time to react, to prepare their case, but… things are bad, very-very bad. Only they know(?) how to turn the situation around, but at least for the time being, things look incredibly bleak for them. There was some good news as well, this past week, they signed a contract with a big Greek bank. Last weekend they drew 0-0 at home with Xanthi, in a really boring game.

It’s hard to imagine AEK not winning this game.
AEK Athens vs OFI Crete: Betting Tips
Given that a simple AEK win pays very little, just over 1.20, my suggestion is “AEK and under 3.5 goals”, at 1.75, and “AEK and under 2.5 goals”, at 2.75.
