AEK Athens vs Panathinaikos
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 9 March 2019
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
“You look indifferent in the championship. At least win the Cup”. That was the… message sent to AEK’s players by the club’s organized fans after the team’s 2-0 defeat at Aris last weekend. AEK lost practically with their hands down, playing one of their poorest matches of the season. They dropped fourth, level on points with Atromitos, but having a disadvantage in their head-to-head games. AEK’s only big target left this season is to win the Cup (they are in the semifinals). Fifth-placed Aris are six points behind them, so they need to… keep an eye on them. Attacking midfielder Petros Mantalos is out, injured. Right-back Michalis Bakakis and defensive midfielder André Simões were considered doubtful the day before the match.
AEK’s fans feel their players are… indifferent. Panathinaikos as well lost 0-2 last weekend, at home, to PAOK, but one thing no one can blame them for, is luck of effort. They simply lost to a much better team, to the best team in Greece this season (and, according to many, last season as well, no matter if they half/gifted the championship title to AEK, having it half/”stolen” as well). Panathinaikos went 0-1 down less than two minutes into the game last weekend, and that sort of set the tone for what would come next. They had their chances, but PAOK’s goalkeeper was spectacular. Panathinaikos failed to score even after PAOK were left with 10 men, in the 71st minute (with the score at 0-2). Right-back Ousmane Coulibaly left behind him an injury problem and is expected to start. Winger Anthony Mounier should be available as well, having trained well the last couple of days. Panathinaikos sit 6th in the table, on 31 points.

AEK Athens vs Panathinaikos: Prediction
AEK are considered big favorites to win, but right now, I find it very hard to trust them.
AEK Athens vs Panathinaikos: Betting Tips
I like Panathinaikos’ chances of earning at least a draw. Their double chance pays 2.38.
