AEL Larissa vs Aris
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 20 January 2019
Kick-off: 16:15 CET
AEL Larissa were awesome last weekend at home against Apollon Smyrnis, won 3-0, could have scored more, and generally left no doubt regarding which team deserved all three points. Truth is, all small details went their way; their first goal in the 5th minute was an own-goal, and in the 50th minute Apollon were reduced to 10 men, with the score still at 1-0. Slovenian Marko Nunic scored twice in the second half. Those were his goals number four and five in the Super League, in just eight appearances and 580 minutes. The 25-year-old is tipped to end up being one of the biggest surprises of the season, if he goes on scoring like this. Larissa finished last weekend sitting 11th in the table, on 18 points. On another note, their president got in trouble once again, for public comments he made, but… he being in trouble, that’s no news. The opposite would be news…
Javier Matilla’s first goal for Aris in 14 Super League appearances earned the Thessaloniki side all three points last weekend, when they hosted Lamia. The Spaniard scored in added time, a big relief for Aris, who had lost their last two championship matches in 2018, and had even gotten eliminated by a Football League (second division) side in the Cup. They are 7th in the table, on 22 points. Winger Bruno Gama, who got seriously injured, will be operated on in Portugal. Argentinian central midfielder Nicolás Colazo is moving to Huracán, having disappointed at Aris these last months. Attacking midfielder Martín Tonso, newly-signed by the Thessaloniki side, may need another week before making his debut.

AEL Larissa vs Aris: Head to head Stats
Larissa haven’t hosted Aris since 2011. That Super League game ended in a 2-2 draw. Two years earlier, AEL and Aris had drawn 2-2 as well(!).
AEL Larissa vs Aris: Prediction
The hosts are considered slight favorites to win the game, but I’m tipping Aris to leave Larissa with at least a point.
AEL Larissa vs Aris: Betting Tips
Given that Aris’ double chance pays just 1.50, I would risk with the same, combined with “over 1.5”. Like that, it pays a much better 2.55.
