AEL Larissa vs PAS Giannina
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 10 November 2018
Kick-off: 16:15 CET
Italian coach Gianluca Festa got hired a month and a half ago by AEL Larissa, but according to reports, his job is anything but safe. The club issued a public statement denying that the Italian is about to get fired, but… AEL change their coaches so ridiculously often, easily, unexpectedly, that it’s really hard to believe them when they say that Festa has the president’s trust. Last weekend, Larissa drew 1-1 at Levadiakos, taking the lead in the 13th minute, and getting equalized late, in the 82nd, when their own guy, Nikos Golias, sent the ball into his team’s net. AEL are 11th in the table, on eight points from nine matches. Vastly experienced center-back Vangelis Moras got injured – again – and is expected to stay out for a whole month.
Seven points from nine matches would be poor by any Super League team’s standards, but it looks even poorer in PAS Giannina’s case, considering their roster is much better than that of some teams above them in the table. Last weekend, they disappointed again, staying at 0-0 at home versus Lamia. Stefanos Athanasiadis, one of the high-profile players who got signed last summer, told reporters the team’s problem is mostly psychological. They have had so many negatives results since the start of the season, that they find it difficult to… draw a line. They got booed by some of the fans last weekend, which didn’t really help. If all that weren’t enough, PAS traveled to Larissa without seven(!) key players. Sandi Krizman, Giannis Mystakidis, Michalis Boukouvalas, Higor Vidal, Alexandros Nikolias, Fabry Castro and Jean-Baptiste Léo are all injured (the last one, long-term).

AEL Larissa vs PAS Giannina: Head to head Stats
AEL have hosted Giannina three times the last year and a half. All three matches ended in a draw in the 90 minutes. Larissa did win once, earlier in 2018, but it was a Cup match, decided in extra-time (3-2). Before March 2017, AEL hadn’t hosted PAS since 2009.
AEL Larissa vs PAS Giannina: Prediction
Given Giannina’s numerous absentees, this is an awesome opportunity for Larissa to get more than one point. I’m counting on them to win the game.
AEL Larissa vs PAS Giannina: Betting Tips
AEL’s win is at 2.15 (their double chance is at just 1.28). I’m staying with that, avoiding risking further with number of goals.
