Al Wasl vs Al Sadd
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 13 February 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Al Wasl finished second in last season’s championship in the United Arab Emirates, earning a direct ticket to the AFC Champions League group stage. They are third at the moment, six game weeks before the end of the ongoing season, six points behind leaders Al Ain. Things looked very different two weeks ago, when Al Wasl were just one point behind Al Ain, second-placed, above Al Wahda. They dropped the ball, picked up just one point from their last two matches, Al Ain won both, and just like that, winning the championship title turned into a dream that most probably will remain a dream. This is only their second appearance in the AFC CL. They were in the group stage back in 2008, but failed to make it to the last 16.
Al Sadd, the team of former Barcelona captain Xavi, finished second in Qatar’s championship last season, won the Emir Cup, and that’s how they earned a direct ticket to the AFC Champions League group stage. They have four wins in a row in this season’s championship, sitting second in the table, two points behind leaders Al Duhail, with six matches remaining. They have looked impressive in these last four matches, scoring a total of 15 goals, and conceding just one. This is their 13th appearance in the AFC CL, they are one of the most… familiar names in Asia’s biggest football competition (at club level). Only Al Hilal have more appearances, 14. Last season their campaign in the competition came to an end super early, as they got eliminated by Esteghlal in the playoffs, drawing 0-0 in Iran, and losing on penalties. A year earlier, same thing, getting eliminated by Al Jazira, again on penalties, playing away from home.

Al Wasl vs Al Sadd: Head to head Stats
This is the first game ever between these two.
Al Wasl vs Al Sadd: Prediction
Al Sadd are given a slight advantage to win the game, but personally I feel draw is the most probable result.
Al Wasl vs Al Sadd: Betting Tips
Al Sadd’s double chance pays 1.50. Their win in “draw no bet” is at 1.86 betting odds, and that’s the only way I would bet on it, with the safety net of “draw no bet”. As previously mentioned, I feel draw, at 3.40, is the most probable result.
