Al Wasl vs Nasaf Qarshi
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 16 April 2018
Kick-off: 17:00 CET
Al Wasl did their part in pushing the score of their game at Al Sadd over 2.5 goals two weeks ago, scoring in added time (2-1). Al Sadd’s win combined with over 2.5 was my main tip back then. The UAE side were a real disgrace in the group stage, losing all five matches, scoring just twice. They will finish at the bottom of the group table even if they beat Nasaf, and that’s really where they belong, given how they looked in all their games. They did bounce back in their championship though, after three defeats in a row. They beat Ajman away from home, and they are fourth in the table, just one point behind third-placed Al Nasr, with two matches left. Their last game was on Wednesday, a 1-0 win over Dibba Al Fujairah in a Presidents Cup quarterfinal. They have 25% chances of winning that title now. They hope that one way or another, they will earn a ticket to next season’s AFC CL edition.
For a team that were desperate to win two weeks ago, Nasaf Qarshi looked rather… toothless. They hosted Persepolis, they needed a big-big victory (by at least three goals), and not only they didn’t score, but they didn’t even create a really clear chance in 90 minutes. They had some shots from a long distance, some… shy visits to Persepolis’ box, but… that was all. Goalless draw, perfect if you followed my “under 2.5” suggestion. They are three points behind Persepolis, but even if they draw level, they will be left third, having lost 3-0 in Iran. They are second in Uzbekistan’s championship, on 12 points from six matches, four points behind leaders Bunyodkor.

Al Wasl have never hosted Nasaf before.
Al Wasl vs Nasaf Qarshi: Prediction
Al Wasl are considered favourites to win the game, but personally, I don’t trust them. I would leave this game aside, I would bet my money on other matches.
Al Wasl vs Nasaf Qarshi: Betting Tips
If I absolutely had to choose something to bet on this game, I would go with “under 2.5 goals”, at 1.80. Al Wasl and Nasaf have scored a combined four goals in 10 matches (five each), so to me it makes sense not to expect more than two goals in this match.
