America Mineiro vs Sao Paulo
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 28 May 2018
Kick-off: 00:00 CET
Newly-promoted América Mineiro have already won three Série A matches in the first six game weeks, all three at home, over Sport Recife, Vitória, and last but not least, Botafogo, a week ago. Midweek, they came close to performing a small football miracle. They took the lead at Palmeiras, in the return leg of their Copa do Brasil last 16 tie. They had lost 2-1 at home in the first leg, that 0-1 was taking the tie to penalties, but América conceded, got equalized, the game ended 1-1, and they were eliminated, despite the good impressions they left. Goalkeeper João Ricardo felt a pain in practice, on Friday, he was submitted to tests, and turned out, he can’t play against Sao Paulo. On the other hand, midfielder Zé Ricardo is back from injury.
Sao Paulo are doing well in the Série A, on 10 points from six matches they are in the group leading, but they definitely have some issues to solve away from home. They are without a victory in seven straight matches as visitors, in four competitions. Truth is, in the Série A they have three draws in as many games away from Sao Paulo, at Ceará, Fluminense and Bahia, not places where you just… show up and earn all three points without trying very hard, but if they want to meet their target, finish in the top 6, then they need to start winning games away from home. Draws alone won’t do them much good. It’s worth mentioning that Sao Paulo are the only unbeaten team in the Série A, in the first six game weeks. They have five guys missing for different reasons. Their most probable lineup is Sidão, Éder Militão, Arboleda, Bruno Alves, Reinaldo, Jucilei, Hudson, Nenê, Marcos Guilherme (or Lucas Fernandes), Diego Souza and Everton.

America Mineiro vs Sao Paulo: Prediction
América have been awesome at home since the start of the Série A campaign. Sao Paulo have drawn in all three matches as visitors. I’m backing the hosts to earn at least a draw.
