America Mineiro vs Sport Recife
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 15 April 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
América Mineiro are back to the top division after spending last season in Série B. They actually won the championship last year, leaving mighty Internacional second. They were active in the transfer market these last weeks, and just a few days ago they added two more players to their roster, attacking midfielder Leandro Donizete (on loan from Santos), and central defender Ricardo Silva (he played in the Paulista championship these last months wearing Ituano’s jersey). Both trained normally these last days, but two days before kick-off their papers were not ready yet. Goalkeeper João Ricardo, attacking midfielder David and left-back Giovanni are unavailable due to injuries. América reached the semifinals of the State championship of Minas Gerais, where they lost twice to Atlético Mineiro.
Like all teams in Brazil these days, Sport Recife have players coming and going. The last couple of days alone, the Pernambuco side announced the signing of central defender Ernando from Internacional, and striker Hygor from Ferroviária, a team that competed in the Paulista championship these last months. Sport have been a regular in the Série A for five years now. Despite failing in their State championship (they finished third, losing to lowly Central in the knock-out semifinal), they have actually set the bar high in the Série A, looking confident that they can be one of the pleasant surprises this season. Last year they finished 15th, avoiding relegation thanks to their wins in the last three game weeks.

America Mineiro vs Sport Recife: Prediction
América’s last official game was on March 25(!). Sport last played on April 2. A lot has changed at both teams since then, with players having come and gone. All things considered, I’m backing América to win.
America Mineiro vs Sport Recife: Betting Tips
América’s victory pays 1.90, and is my main tip. “Over 2.5 goals” is at 2.25, and I like it because both teams had a lot of time to get prepared for this game, have new faces, guys eager to show things, especially the hosts, whom I expect to score at least twice.
