Anderlecht vs Fenerbahce
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 25 October 2018
Kick-off: 18:55 CET
Anderlecht are with their back against the wall in this group, on no point from two matches. Three weeks ago they hosted Dinamo Zagreb, and lost 0-2, having every single detail go against them. They went 0-1 down in the 19th minute from the penalty spot, Ognjen Vranješ, their defender who gave away the penalty, got sent-off late in the first half, and in the 68th minute Dinamo scored again, thanks to a heavy ball deflection. The Belgian side finished the game on almost 60% ball possession, but less attempts than Dinamo. They won both their matches in Belgium’s championship since then. They are third in the table, six points behind leaders Genk.
It felt like the Fenerbahce vs Spartak Trnava game three weeks ago in Istanbul was pretty much a… personal matter between Islam Slimani and Martin Chudý. Spartak’s goalkeeper did an awesome job to keep a clean sheet in the first half, denying Fener’s striker over and over again. In the 52nd minute though, he failed to punch the ball away, and practically gifted the Algerian striker a goal. Slimani scored again in the 68th minute, being the undoubted man of the match. The Turkish side were definitely the better team on the field, and there is no doubt they deserved all three points. They were their first ones in the group. In their championship they are only 15th(!!), on nine points from as many games. In seven away matches this season, Turkey Super Lig, Champions League qualifiers, and Europa League combined, they have just one win, one draw, and five defeats.

Anderlecht vs Fenerbahce: Head to head Stats
Anderlecht have hosted Fenerbahce twice before; in the very distant 1965(!) they destroyed them, 5-1, but in 2007 they lost 0-2.
Anderlecht vs Fenerbahce: Prediction
The hosts are considered favorites to win. I’m going with that, partly because Fenerbahce have been very poor away from home this season, even against teams far less strong than Anderlecht.
Anderlecht vs Fenerbahce: Betting Tips
Anderlecht’s win pays 2.25, with their double chance at just 1.34, too low. Their clean sheet is at 2.90, which I like, keeping in mind that Fener have scored just two goals in seven matches as guests this season, in all competitions.
