Arsenal vs CSKA Moscow
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 5 April 2018
Kick-off: 21:05 CET
It’s been a month since Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at Brighton, a month taken out of any Gunner’s dreams. Triumph in Italy over AC Milan, two wins in the Premier League by a total score of 6-0, second triumph over Milan at Emirates, first European quarterfinal in eight years. Still, Arsenal have zero chance of finishing in the top 4, meaning that to play Champions League football next season they must win the Europa League. On Sunday, Arsene Wenger implied that Alexandre Lacazette won’t be in the starting lineup against CSKA Moscow, despite being available, having just returned to action after almost two months on the sidelines. He even scored their third goal last weekend against Stoke City, from the penalty spot. Danny Welbeck got slightly injured, and his presence in the starting lineup is a doubt. David Ospina is expected to start between the sticks.
Arsenal are in great form, but CSKA Moscow are not doing bad themselves either. Despite losing 1-0 at home to Lyon, in the first leg in the previous round of the competition, they showed… balls of solid rock in the return leg, beating Lyon 3-2 in France(!). They have three wins in a row in Russia’s championship, with the gap between them and leaders Lokomotiv Moscow down to five points. Still, they are third, three points behind Spartak Moscow as well. They traveled to London without four players, injured Viktor Vasin, Astemir Gordyushenko and Mario Fernandes, as well as banned due to cards Kirill Nababkin.

Arsenal vs CSKA Moscow: Head to head Stats
Arsenal have hosted CSKA once before. It was in 2006, a Champions League group stage match, which ended in a goalless draw.
Arsenal vs CSKA Moscow: Prediction
I respect what CSKA did in Lyon in the previous round, but it’s hard to imagine them leave London undefeated.
Arsenal vs CSKA Moscow: Betting Tips
A simple Arsenal win pays 1.36. I expect goals, I can see the game have at least three, “over 2.5” pays 1.72, and combined with Arsenal’s victory it goes up to an even better 2.00.
