Astana vs Jablonec
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 8 November 2018
Kick-off: 16:50 CET
Draw (3.40) and Astana’s double chance (1.67) were my two tips two weeks ago, when the team from Kazakhstan visited Jablonec, and both came good, as the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Jablonec took the lead less than four minutes into the game, but Brazilian Pedro Henrique equalized for Astana in a matter of minutes. The two teams finished the game on same attempts (13 each), same on target as well (three each), same corners won, and almost 50-50 ball possession, so that draw felt rather… fair. Astana are leading in the group, on five points from three matches, still undefeated. The coming weekend they are playing their last game of the season in Kazakhstan, where they have already won the championship. Last weekend they beat second-placed Kairat 3-2 at home, their first win in five matches, national championship and Europa League combined.
Jablonec are on two points from three matches in the group, at the bottom of the table, but still in with a chance of finishing in the top-2, at least mathematically. They have already played two matches at home, so their mission to leave two teams behind them in the table is made even more difficult. Last weekend they destroyed Dukla in Prague, 2-6(!). Two weeks earlier, they had beaten Příbram 0-6 away from home. Even so, they are just 6th in the table of their championship in Czechia, on 26 points from 14 games.

Astana vs Jablonec: Head to head Stats
Astana have never hosted Jablonec before.
Astana vs Jablonec: Prediction
Astana have the opportunity to make a massive step towards qualifying for the last 32 of the competition. They are playing at home, against a weaker opponent, and on a… weird field (synthetic) to which they are used, unlike their rivals. One way or another, they should win.
Astana vs Jablonec: Betting Tips
Astana’s win pays 1.75. It’s not fantastic, but I would stay with that, unable to choose between “over” and “under 2.5 goals”. Jablonec have the odd… crazy day away from home, so I can see them score (still lose, but score). It remains to be seen though, how they’ll look on a field they are not used to.
