Atletico Madrid vs Monaco
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 28 November 2018
Kick-off: 18:55 CET
Atlético Madrid may be on nine points, five ahead of third-placed Club Brugge, but they haven’t qualified yet for the last-16, not mathematically. No matter what happens this week in their game and in the match between Borussia Dortmund and Club Brugge, they will be visiting the Belgian side in two weeks, and worst – for them – case scenario, they’ll need a draw in that game to secure a spot in the group’s top-2. They qualify this week even if they lose to Monaco, as long as Club Brugge don’t beat Borussia in Dortmund. On Saturday they hosted Barcelona in La Liga, took the lead in the 77th minute with Diego Costa, but the Blaugrana equalized in added time. They are third in the table there, on 24 points, two behind leaders Sevilla. Diego Simeone is expected to have Oblak, Arias, Savić, Hernández, Filipe Luís, Koke, Ñíguez, Rodrigo, Correa, Costa and Griezmann in the starting lineup. Right-back Juanfran is out, injured. Center-backs José Giménez and Diego Godín are doubtful, both due to injuries.
A Radamel Falcao goal gave Monaco a 0-1 win at Caen on Saturday, their first victory since August 11! It was also Thierry Henry’s first win, since the day he took over as head coach at Monaco. They remain below the relegation line in France’s championship, on just 10 points from 14 matches, but at least morale-wise, things look better after last weekend’s victory. In their CL group they are on just one point from four matches, three behind third-placed Club Brugge. Finishing level on points with them would leave them at the bottom of the table, as they drew 1-1 in Belgium, but got destroyed 0-4 at home three weeks ago. Benaglio, Pierre-Gabriel, Raggi, Jemerson, Henrichs, Golovin, Aït-Benasser, Diop, Tielemans, Chadli and Falcao, these should be the first 11. They have no less than nine(!) players out, all injured, Aholou, Glik, Jovetić, Lopes, Pellegri, Sidibé, Subašić, Touré, and Traoré.

Atletico Madrid vs Monaco: Head to head Stats
Atlético have never hosted Monaco before.
Atletico Madrid vs Monaco: Prediction
I don’t believe in Monaco’s… miracle in Madrid, despite the fact that they just won their first match in over three months.
Atletico Madrid vs Monaco: Betting Tips
Given that a simple Atlético win pays close to nothing, I would risk with “Atlético to win and keep a clean sheet”, at 1.57 (still low), and more than that, with “Atlético and under 2.5 goals”, at 3.00. “Under 2.5” alone pays 2.20.
