Atletico Mineiro vs Bahia
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 18 November 2018
Kick-off: 00:00 CET
Atlético Mineiro hadn’t won in six matches before visiting Paraná midweek. They finally won, they stayed 6th in the table, earning – for the time being – the last Copa Libertadores (qualifiers) ticket, but… They beat a team that has already gotten relegated, mathematically. Their only goal came from the penalty spot, in the 14th minute. Paraná were reduced to 10 men in the 30th minute, and if that weren’t enough, they lost a second player to a red card three minutes into the second half. Atlético played 11 vs 9 for an entire half, and all they managed was to beat their already relegated rivals 0-1… Not too much to celebrate about, despite the victory and the three points.
Bahia needed an added-time goal to beat Ceará at home, midweek, but they were the better team on the field, and it’s hard to claim that they didn’t deserve all three points. They went 0-1 down in the 8th minute, equalized just before halftime, and Edigar Junio sent the ball in after regular time was over, earning the Salvador side a huge victory. Fourty-four points have Bahia 10th in the table, with awesome chances of earning a Copa Sudamericana ticket. They have seven points from their last three matches, and have lost just one of their last five on the road. Plus, they have scored in all their last seven away games.

Atletico Mineiro vs Bahia: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Atlético, one for Bahia, and two draws, in the last five games between these two in Belo Horizonte.
Atletico Mineiro vs Bahia: Prediction
Atlético Mineiro did win midweek, away from home, but I was left seriously unconvinced. They played 11 vs 9 for more than 45 minutes, and all they managed was to protect that narrow 0-1 lead they had taken from the penalty spot earlier on. I’m backing enthusiastic Bahia to earn at least a draw.
Atletico Mineiro vs Bahia: Betting Tips
Bahia’s double chance is at 2.10, my main tip. Their win in “draw no bet” pays 3.40.
