Atletico Mineiro vs Fluminense
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 10 June 2018
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Atlético Mineiro beat city rivals América 3-1 midweek, with Ricardo Oliveira and Tomás Andrade making the most of “half-a-goal” passes by Róger Guedes, and Juan Cazares adding another goal, totally catching América’s keeper by surprise. Atlético had picked up just one point from their last three games, but against América they… played like Atlético, further improving their scoring record (only leaders Flamengo have scored more than them). On the other hand, they conceded again. From all teams in the upper half of the table, Atlético have the worst record, having already allowed 14 goals in 10 matches. Atlético were in the top-4 before this weekend’s games started, but Róger Guedes admitted that there is a serious offer for him from abroad. He is not “just another” player, he is a key-key-figure at Atlético, and without him, IF he leaves indeed, the team simply won’t be the same after the World Cup finals. Remember, they’ve already lost Rómulo Otero, another massively important player.
Fluminense got exactly what they “deserved” midweek when they “hosted” Flamengo in Brasília; nothing. They lost 2-0, with the result rather reflecting what happened on the pitch. The only good thing that came out of that match for Fluminense, was that the impressive stadium in Brazil’s capital city was full to the brim, making Flu a good deal of money. Actually, it was the biggest crowd in all Série A games since the start of the season. Coach Abel Braga admitted that the result was fair, and sort of told his players off in public. Flamengo are on 14 points from 10 matches, in the middle of the Série A table.

Atletico Mineiro vs Fluminense: Betting Tips
A simple Atlético win pays 1.55, not particularly tempting. Combined with “over 2.5 goals” though, it goes up to 2.60. Atlético’s last three games had 15(!!) goals, including that 3-3 at home versus Chapecoense.
