Atletico Tucuman vs Rosario Central
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 10 November 2018
Kick-off: 01:00 CET
Atlético Tucumán lost last weekend a game they… shouldn’t have lost. They conceded at Godoy Cruz in the dying seconds of the first half, from the penalty spot. Nine minutes into the second part, El Tomba lost a player to a red card, and after that, Atlético really gave their all to score the equalizer. They created and missed chances, even had a shot on the post, but the goal they so desperately needed, didn’t come. They are 5th in the table, on 19 points from 10 matches (they have one in hand). Superliga and Copa Libertadores combined, they have won just one of their last five matches, that spectacular 4-2 at home over Independiente two weeks ago. On a totally different note, Wednesday morning, super early, there was a robbery(!) at Atlético’s stadium. At least two people broke in, threatened the guard in the offices, and stole some papers as well as some trophies. They didn’t find any money, and left as soon as the alarm went on, without harming the guard.
Rosario Central have won (in 90 minutes, not taking into consideration penalty shootouts) just one of their last 10(!) matches, but they won probably the most important one, the Copa Argentina quarterfinal against city rivals Newell’s Old Boys. They will be facing Temperley in the semifinal, in Córdoba, on November 18, with good chances of reaching the final. Last weekend, they drew 1-1 at home with Colón, yet another poor result in the Superliga. They are just 17th in the table, on 12 points from 10 matches (they have one in hand). Vastly experienced center-back Matías Caruzzo didn’t play last weekend, and won’t play against Atlético Tucumán either, injured. Defensive midfielder Diego Arismendi and center-forward Marco Ruben are also out, injured, not seriously, but… enough to not travel to Tucumán. Coach Edgardo Bauza is not hiding that right now, what matters the most is the Copa Argentina semifinal against Temperley, and wants to make sure to have all three available in that game.

Atletico Tucuman vs Rosario Central: Head to head Stats
Atlético Tucumán haven’t hosted Central since 2013. That second division game ended in a 3-4(!) Central victory.
Atletico Tucuman vs Rosario Central: Prediction
Given Central’s problems with key players missing, not to mention that Atlético Tucumán have played much better football than their visitors these last two months, I find it rather easy to back the hosts to win.
Atletico Tucuman vs Rosario Central: Betting Tips
Atlético Tucumán’s win is at 1.95, more than what I expected. I would stay with that. For much more, I would risk with the hosts’ win combined with “over 2.5 goals”, at 3.60. They play free-flowing football even in games they fail to score, and this time, at home, eager to bounce back, I can see them score at least twice, with a third goal coming from either side.
