Atletico Tucuman vs The Strongest
Competition: Copa Libertadores
Date: 26 April 2018
Kick-off: 00:15 CET
Bad-bad news for Atlético Tucumán. Javier Toledo, one of their best strikers, got seriously injured, won’t play in the remainder of the Argentina Superliga season, and, very important, he’ll miss the three remaining Copa Libertadores group stage games as well. He is a very important player at Tucumán, and his injury is a real blow to their chances of finishing in the top 2. Atlético are on three points from three matches, the points they earned last week at The Strongest, becoming the first team from Argentina to win a game in La Paz in no less than 18 years(!). Last weekend they drew 0-0 at home to Unión Santa Fe. They are 15th in their championship, with three matches left.
Center-back Edison Carcelén and central midfielder Wálter Veizaga are two players that missed the home game against Atlético Tucumán last week, the first one due to his red card in a previous match, the second one for not being 100% fit, both returned last weekend in The Strongest’s 3-0 victory over Sport Boys, but incredibly, both got injured. Carcelén finished the game, while Veizaga had to get substituted. According to the club’s medical staff, both should be available for this game versus Atlético, as their injuries were not particularly worrisome. According to reports in local media, The Strongest will start the game with Ever Caballero, Ramiro Ballivián, Fernando Marteli, Edison Carcelén (or Maximiliano Ortiz), Marvin Bejarano, Raúl Castro, Diego Wayar, Jhasmany Campos Wálter Veizaga (or Rudy Cardozo), Pablo Escobar and Edis Ibargüen. The La Paz side are on three points from three group matches.

Atletico Tucuman vs The Strongest: Head to head Stats
Atlético Tucumán have never hosted The Strongest before.
Atletico Tucuman vs The Strongest: Prediction
The Strongest have just two victories in 33 Copa Libertadores away games since 2004, having lost the vast majority of those 33 matches. This may make my suggestion look… suicidal, but I’m actually backing them to earn at least a draw, expecting them to play their best away game in a long time.
Atletico Tucuman vs The Strongest: Betting Tips
The Strongest’s double chance pays 2.55 and is my only tip.
