Atromitos vs Xanthi
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 1 September 2018
Kick-off: 20:30 CET
Last weekend, I singled out Efthimis Koulouris, among the players Atromitos signed this summer, either on proper transfers or on loan, and the Greek striker made all the difference in Agrinio, in Atromitos’ game versus Panetolikos. He scored in the 36th minute to put his team ahead, and scored again in the 76th minute to give them a 1-2 win. Atromitos get to… benefit from the fact that Koulouris was among the quality players whom PAOK decided to loan out, so as to play regularly this season, while if they stayed at the Thessaloniki team they would be second or third options, earning very little playing time.
Xanthi were considered clear favorites to beat Panathinaikos last weekend, but I gambled with the Athens team’s chances of earning at least a draw, and even winning the game (in “draw no bet”), and Xanthi found things as hard as I expected. They lost 0-1, looking rather… surprised, not expecting Panathinaikos’ youngsters to play the way they played. Actually, if their goalkeeper, Zivko Zivkovic, hadn’t been on a very good day, they would have lost by a bigger score. Xanthi traveled to Athens for the game versus Atromitos without right winger Brito and attacking midfielder Petar Djurickovic, two problems for coach Milan Rastavac to solve.

Atromitos vs Xanthi: Prediction
I definitely expect Atromitos to score. On the other hand, I expect Xanthi to look better than last weekend, when they lost at home to Panathinaikos. All things considered, I would risk with the hosts’ win, leaving aside some reservations.
Atromitos vs Xanthi: Betting Tips
Atromitos’ win pays 1.72. I don’t trust them to keep a clean sheet, also because I expect Xanthi to look better than last weekend, so for more than 1.72, I would risk with Atromitos’ victory combined with “over 2.5 goals”, at 3.10. “Over 2.5” alone is at 2.35(!). I have a 2-1 hunch, and I expect Koulouris to score again.
