Bangladesh vs Australia
Competition: Test Match
Date: 27 August 2017
Play starts: 06:00 CET
In a series that almost wasn’t to be Bangladesh will be gearing up for a big challenge from one of the best sides in the world as they try their hand at an important Test match on home soil.
Bangladesh, so often seen as the whipping boys of cricket, regardless of the format, have steadily been getting better. They put on a much improved performance in the ODI Champions Trophy as they beat a few teams that they were never supposed to. In fact, most of the sub continental teams did well in conditions supposedly not suited for them. Bangladesh have a core of experienced campaigners, especially in their Test make up, and will be hoping they can shine to lead the rest of the talent youngsters still trying to find their feet. Being at home will be a huge advantage for them, as they know what the conditions are like, and the sub continent is always a bastion. However, Australia are not one of the best teams in the world for nothing and they will make this look easy.
Australia’s biggest battle has not been results on the field it has been off field pay disputes and selection problems, but despite this, they are a class team that will be heading to Bangladesh full of confidence as they are a cut above their opposition regardless of the conditions. Australia have some of the best top order batsmen around in world cricket, including their captain Steve Smith and David Warner. If these two can get set on the usually batting friendly pitches, they will be too much for Bangladesh to overcome. Australia are also well balanced with their bowling as a few key pace men will cause havoc for the young Bangladeshis, but more importantly, they have a class spinner in Nathan :yon who can mix it up in the sub continental pitches with ease.
Bangladesh vs Australia: Head to Head Stats
This will only be the third Test series in history between these sides, and as expected, Bangladesh have never won a series, in fact, they have never even won a Test match against the Australians.
Bangladesh vs Australia: Prediction
There is not much going in favour of Bangladesh, they are at home, and that will help, but it will not be enough to slow down the Australians. The visitors are well balanced and expertly professional, it does not matter too much to them who they are playing or where, they will go about their business and with a few good knocks and bowling spells they will walk this game.
