Barcelona vs Khimki Moscow
Competition: Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Date: 5 April 2018
Time: 21:00 CET
Barcelona prevailed in the battle of the barrel-bottom last week, when they destroyed Anadolu Efes by 83:107 in Turkey. That was a statement by Barcelona, who have had really tough luck this season, and are still stuck at the penultimate spot of the Eurloeague. They were really strong in that match, as they managed to take a four point lead by the end of the first quarter, which extended to a massive 21 points by the end of the first half. Anadolu Efes showed signs of life in the third quarter, but Barcelona were dominant in the fourth quarter as well, and managed a strong 83:107 win on the road. However, Barcelona are still stuck at the 15th spot of the Euroleague (W10 L19), and it’s funny to say that the best thing they could look for is to win here in hopes that they can move up a spot. They will be missing Seraphin in this match, while Vezenkov and Sanders are still being listed as questionable to participate.
On the other hand, Khimki Moscow suffered a really frustrating loss at home against Fenerbahce last week, that might have ruined their chances for a better placement in the playoffs. The Russians actually made a strong start in the match, and were up by a single point at the end of the first half. However, they were shut down at the entire second half, and just could not avoid the loss by 64:73. Shved was the usual suspect with 19 points and 8 assists, while Gill scored 12 with 8 rebounds, and Thomas had 10 with 7 rebounds. That loss pushed Khimki Moscow at the 8th spot of the Euroleague, and even though their place in the playoffs is secured, they will surely look for a better placement in order to avoid CSKA Moscow. Khimki Moscow will be making this trip with numerous injury concerns, as Anderson, Zubkov, Honeycutt and Sokolov are currently listed between unavailable and doubtful to participate.

Barcelona had no problems in handing the Russians a bad defeat back in December 29th, when they won by 65:79 in Moscow. That was their third win in five matches against the Russians, and they have also won both previous matches as hosts.
Barcelona vs Khimki Moscow: Prediction
Khimki Moscow have made it to the playoffs, but they will surely look for a win here in an attempt to avoid the final spot and the match-up with CSKA Moscow. They will do their best to win this one, hoping that they will have other results go their way too.
Barcelona vs Khimki Moscow: Betting Tips
Barcelona look like they will not give anything up despite being eliminated from the playoff chase, but Khimki Moscow must now win here in order to have a better placement. I will go with the Russians’ motive to win this crucial match, so I will go with the -4.5 for the visitors here @ 1.80.
