Barcelona vs Real Madrid
Competition: Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Date: 23 February 2018
Time: 21:00 CET
Barcelona did not enter the small break in the Euroleague in the best of forms, as they have lost four of their last five matches in the competition. In that last match they suffered their fourth loss, when they fell by 94:82 on the road against Maccabi Tel Aviv. They were only good in the first and third quarter, but they were severly outscored in the second and fourth, and ended up losing by double digits. Heurtel scored a game-high 18 points in that match, with 10 assists and 2 rebounds, while Hanga scored 17 with 5 rebounds. Tomic scored 14, Navarro and Rivas scored 10, but that was pretty much it for Barca. However, after that match they recorded four consecutive wins in the ACB and the Spanish Cup, and are coming off a win in the Cup final against arch rivals Real Madrid, by 90:92. As far as the Euroleague is concerned, Barcelona are now sitting at the penultimate spot (W7 L15), scoring an average of 80.59 points per match, while allowing 79.54 in the process. They will be coming into this match with a handful of injury concerns, as Jackson, Pressey, Garcia and Seraphin are between doubtful and questionable to participate. Probably the most important change has been on the bench with Svetislav Pešić taking over the catalan team. The change seems to have produced some wonders so far.
On the other hand, Real Madrid will be looking to take revenge in this match, as the two teams met last Sunday in the Spanish Cup final, where they fell by 90:92. That loss put an end to their small, three-match winning streak, that came after their 79:80 loss to Olympiacos Piraeus in their last match for the Euroleague. They were really handled greatly by their opponents in that match, eespecially in the first half, and despite their efforts in the second, they were unable to recover. Doncic went off for 27 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds a steal and a block, with Thompkins scoring 20 more, but no other play had more than 10 points in that match. Real Madrid are now sitting at the 5th spot of the Euroleague (W13 L9), scoring an average of 84 points per match, which is the 2nd best offense, against 78.22 conceded. They will be missing Kuzmic and Llull once again here, joined by Thompkins who suffered an injury.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Prediction

Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Betting Tips
Predicting this match is a real challenge, as anything can happen when these two play against one another. Barcelona’s chances of taking one of the top 8 spots are slim even with a win today but an almost perfect end of the regular season would at least give them a fighting chance. It all could start or end today because another defeat would clearly ruin even those slim chances. They managed to beat Baskonia, Gran Canaria and Real in a span of a few days to clinch the Spanish cup and they looked very composed while doing so. That makes me trust them one more time. Therefor Barcelona to win @2.00 is my bet.
