Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 25 April 2017
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
“Revenge” is a word you read a lot these days if you’re following Bayern Munich’s preparation for this massive game against Real Madrid, “revenge” for the way they got eliminated last season by the same team in the Champions League quarterfinals. On the record, Bayern people have avoided using that word, but one thing is for sure, they have not forgotten last year’s games. The Bavarians have already won the Bundesliga (no surprise), and last weekend they beat Hannover 3-0 away from home, scoring all three goals after the 57th minute. In 26 official matches since late November, they have lost just once (at RB Leipzig, more than a month ago), drawn twice (to Hertha Berlin and Sevilla at home), and won the other 23 games. Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is out and will stay out until the end of the season.
Real Madrid were left… shaken, despite eliminating Juventus in the quarterfinals, shaken by how close to trouble they got, getting saved by an added-time penalty call. The team flew to Munich with hardly any problems. Nacho trained on his own these last days, he was expected to try join the rest of the group in their last practice before the game, but either way, he’s not expected to start, definitely not being 100% ready. Other than that, Zinedine Zidane is facing his almost… constant dilemma, regarding Isco, Gareth Bale, and Marco Asensio. Reports in Spain claim that the Frenchman is considering benching Karim Benzema, but only he knows what he really has in mind. Last weekend, the “Merengues” drew 1-1 at home to Athletic, two more points dropped. They are third in LaLiga, four points behind second-placed Atlético, but with a game in hand.

Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Head to head Stats
Bayern have hosted Real Madrid 12 times in the past, they have nine wins, one draw, and just two defeats. Total goals, 25-16 for the German side. They last hosted them a year ago, it was a Champions League semifinal first leg, a big Real Madrid win (1-2).
Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Prediction
I’m backing Bayern Munich to win the game. I feel they are at a better place at the moment, I expect them to look more motivated than Real Madrid, plus, they are playing at home, so they have three important details going for them.
Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Betting Tips
Bayern’s win pays 2.00, which I consider good enough to avoid risking further with special bets. If I had to choose one, that would be “Bayern and over 2.5 combined goals”, at 2.65.
