Belgrano vs Gimnasia La Plata
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 2 November 2018
Kick-off: 23:00 CET
Belgrano are in trouble… They have lost four of their last five matches, earning just one point, thanks to that draw at home with Banfield. Eight points from 10 matches in the Superliga thus far have them 23rd in the table, and, most important of all, fourth-to-last in the “promedio” table, meaning that if the season were over today, they would be getting relegated. Last weekend they lost 1-0 at Vélez Sarsfield, looking second best on the field for 90 minutes. They finished the match without a single attempt on target, and just over 30% ball possession. They did play with a man less in the entire second half, but Gastón Gil Romero only has himself to blame, as he should have been much-much more careful after receiving the first yellow card, and avoid the foul that led to the second one in the 42nd minute. Belgrano have scored just four goals in the Superliga thus far. Only bottom-of-the-table Argentinos Juniors have scored less than them.
Gimnasia La Plata are… over the moon. Late September, they beat Boca Juniors in the Copa Argentina, earning themselves a spot in the semifinals. Last weekend, they… did it again, beat Boca once more, at home, 2-1, taking perfect advantage of the fact that the Buenos Aires giants played with several reserves. Gimnasia’s winner was scored in the 49th minute by 24-year-old Maxi Comba. It was just his second game for “El Lobo”, first goal, huge moment for a guy who until recently was playing for a Federal A team, hoping for a breakthrough. Gimnasia gave him the opportunity to play in the Superliga, and on his second appearance he scored a massively important goal. The La Plata side are 11th in the table, on 14 points from 10 matches. Only four of those 14 though have been earned away from home.

Belgrano vs Gimnasia La Plata: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Belgrano, two for Gimnasia as well, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Córdoba.
Belgrano vs Gimnasia La Plata: Prediction
The hosts are considered slight favorites to win the game, but I don’t trust them, and their double chance pays too little. Combining their five home games and the five ones Gimnasia have played away from home, you notice that hardly any of those 10 matches had both teams scoring…
Belgrano vs Gimnasia La Plata: Betting Tips
“No” on “both teams to score” is at 1.57, low, but very probable. For something over 2.00, I would risk with “under 1.5”, at 2.25. Belgrano’s double chance is at just 1.36.
